Make the carrying distance shorter
- Park near the building entrance while keeping a clear path back to the road.
- Bring food, water and the parts needed to keep driving to the RV first.
- Place those items in consistent areas before collecting decorative furniture.
- Move the vehicle closer when a large load would otherwise need repeated long walks.

Give supplies a place you can remember

|---|---|
| Immediate survival | Drinking water, ready food and medicine. |
| Vehicle recovery | Chargers, repair kits and usable spare parts. |
| Liquid reserve | Water containers and fuel cans kept distinct. |
| Interior project | Furniture, paint and non-essential decoration. |
The crate-as-basket method is a player report
In an October 18 Steam thread, a player describes taking a crate to the loot, dropping small objects into it, carrying it back, then sorting everything inside the vehicle. This may reduce trips for loose items; it is not an added inventory screen or a guaranteed container mechanic.
Use a cheap item for the first load and keep valuable keys and critical repair parts secure. Loose cargo still needs a check before you move the RV.
Do not search the Demo for an assumed backpack unlock
NPC Tips reports a one-item Demo limit and describes a two-slot hotbar and backpacks as announced Early Access changes. Those launch plans are not usable Demo upgrades.
The current public Demo and the future release are different software. If your goal is simply to move a fridge or a battery today, shorten the trip and finish the necessary load rather than waiting for a hidden inventory level.
Check the RV before leaving
- The next drinking water and meal can be reached without emptying the vehicle.
- Repair items are separate from cosmetic tools.
- The route to the driving position and doors stays usable.
- Loose items are inside before the movement test.
